What is this?

What is presented on the main page is a list of the top 40 Philippine-related websites. The figures to the right of the domain name indicates the domain's rank compared to all other Internet websites as compiled by Alexa. With over 800 million websites all over the Internet, to be ranked 4,000th (as in the case with INQ7.NET) is already an achievement. In fact it would be very difficult to get into the Top 100,000 judging with how few Philippine-related websites break into this elite circle.

How are the rankings determined?

We use the traffic data provided by Alexa Internet to determine which of the hundreds of Philippine domains make it to the Top 40. Go here to learn about how Alexa does its rankings.

Are all Philippine domains automatically included in the rankings?

No, because it is impossible to automatically determine whether a domain name is somehow related to the Philippines or not. What we did was scoured the net for hundreds of Philippine-related websites and check their rankings. Those who are within striking distance to make it to the Top 40 Philippine websites are included in our database for monitoring. So it is possible that we miss some domains that are actually have higher traffic rankings. Please let us know if you encounter such domains so we can add them in our database.

How often does your rankings are updated?

The rankings are updated daily at around 18:00 GMT.

You've got a cool program. Can I use your program to determine rankings in other categories? For example, the best music sites, video sites, software sites and so on?

Yes. We are open to the idea that our program be used by other people for other categories. We are also willing to host the program and to modify the site's name and design to match our partner's website. And more than that, we are willing to do this for free.
